Wild! Fabric Collage with Phyllis Cullen
We'll use print fabric scraps to fill in an outline of your favorite bird or animal, dividing our scraps just by value and following a value pattern. You don't need to know how to draw, you canuse one of m many pattern choices (horse, goat, turtle, rooster, dig, cat, lion, macaws, eagle) or bring your own enlarged photo to trace. No measuring, no precise cutting. We are painting WITH fabric rather than ON it. A layer of tulle, a bit of quilting, and you've created a wildly patterned, but totally believable, creature of your choice. No sewing in class, just tracing, a bit of slash and dash cutting, a touch of glue, and a sense of adventure!
