Description:
In this class you will learn a collage with templates technique, totally new and amazing. You will use nothing else once you try it. It is easy, foolproof, and the results are always amazing. It produces a no-fray raw edge applique. Grace will demonstrate and you will practice on a pattern of a Red Poppy. So come learn and practice this technique with the inventor, developer, and teacher of this amazing new revolutionary applique technique. You will be working on the pattern of a flower to create your amazing quilt.

Supply List:
• Fabrics to bring: You will receive a full-sized pattern. You will be able to use the colors I used (red poppy with green leaves) or choose your own colors. I will also show you how you can use the concept of value to change colors and still maintain realism.
Ensure you bring lots of fabric scraps in many values, from lightest light to darkest darks. Fabric scraps can be any sizes from small, palm size pieces to quarter yards, fat quarters, or fat eights (9” x 22") Note: You do NOT need a background for class.
• Board: 20? x 20? insulation board (usually 1-1/4? thick). You can get it at Home Depot, Lowe’s, or any building supply store. Optionally a “Cushioned Quilters Square and Blocker” will work very well.
If using the insulation board, optionally bring a piece of “InsulBright” Insulated Lining the size of your board for board protection.
• Brush: Soft, 1/4” wide
• Pens: Sharpie black permanent markers Fine point (not Extra Fine)
• Ballpoint
• Color pencil: Best is red and a regular black pencil, eraser
• Non-stick pressing cloth: Teflon type for applique; any size but the larger the better
• Scissors: Fabric and paper
• Freezer paper: 18” wide
• Vinyl (2 mil): Also known as painter’s drop cloth. Best is the 2 mil painter’s drop cloth. Can be bought at any hardware or building supply store.
