It’s time to get your walking foot out of the ditch! Join Carrie as she shares her favorite quilting tool: The Walking Foot. You will make a six-patch quilted sampler.
Learn the basics of starting and stopping quilt lines, how to plan stitching paths to minimize back tracking, marking methods, as well as a variety of unique designs, all with your walking foot! No free motion allowed!

Sampler squares:
6 – 9X9” squares (solid fabric or fabrics that read as solids)
These will be sewn together, see Pre-Class Preparation
Backing: 22X31” coordinating fabric
Batting: 22X31”
Practice Pieces: 2 – 10X10” squares (solid fabric)
Batting: 10x10”
Thread:
50 wt. to match Sampler top (I use Aurifil)
Invisible/Monofilament (I use Auifil)
Sewing Machine needles Sharp 70/10
Walking Foot for your sewing machine
Extension table for your sewing machine
Quilting Ruler 6X24
Frixion Pilot marking pen

Pre-Class Preparation:
Have quilt sandwiches ready:
- Piece together the sampler squares to create a 2x3 rectangular quilt top
Sandwich Sampler top, batting and backing using 505 adhesive method
(see Walk book pgs. 21-24)
- Sandwich practice squares and batting (no adhesive needed)
For this class you will need a sewing machine (working knowledge of your machine, extra bobbins, needles, manual) and basic sewing supplies (scissors, thread, seam ripper, etc.)
