REEL TWEETS - CANVAS MOUNTED class instructs students on how to create a unique piece of art, ideal to brighten any space, and can make great gifts. The varied methods learned may be usefully applied to other projects.
Attendees have the option of choosing one of four patterns to create their special a pair of birds.
These bird scenes are made using raw edge appliqué techniques, followed by machine quilted. The finished quiltlette is then mounted on canvas using a careful step by step method. This mounting method ensures a tidy and professional finish on those tricky corners.

Kit fee payable to instructor is $15.00 includes pattern. You'll need the following supplies, or you can purchase a kit a Quilt Passions for $25.00
Bird and leaf fabrics MUST be batik, for branches and backgrounds this is optional.
2 pieces of fabric 20 x 18 , one for the background and one for lining
20 x 18 piece of batting
10 x 12 (one inch deep) artist canvas - this size for this class is mandatory
12 x 12 fusible- (the 'sticky' variety is more complicated to use in this class)
8 to 10 pieces of batik fabric in desired colorway 6" square or smaller - scraps work well for this as some pieces will be quite small.
3 x 3 grey or brown batik - for feet and beak
4 x 12 inch brown fabric - for branches
3 x 12 inch strips med green batik fabric- for leaves
3 x 12 inch strip light green batik
