CLASS0025: Encompassing Stars with Debby Williams (KONA)

Join international quilt instructor Debby Williams for this one day class featuring design and construction of the traditional Mariner’s Compass star.
Suitable for quilters of average skill level, this highly simplified version of the technique was developed to make drafting these stars FUN instead of technically stressful.
This unique approach to drafting accurate and beautiful stars is easy to accomplish using my special ‘STARWHIZ™ tool.’ (included in class kit)
This class includes pattern and template making for circular stars with plain or split rays and optional ways of setting stars in background. Instructions are covered on paper, machine or hand piecing. Thorough notes are provided.
Supply fee of $15.00 payable to instructor includes pattern and Starwiz tool. You'll need the following supplies or you can purchase a kit at Quilt Passions for $20.00:
One yard of background fabric, either very dark or very light tone depending on desired effect.
Pieces of fabrics that contrast well with the background and coordinate well with each other. Bring eight or more pieces. These pieces will not need to be large, between a fat quarter to a fat eighth is plenty. Bring along an assortment of scraps and play!
Results are best with solid fabrics, tone on tone or muted non-directional prints.
